She was one of two members of the black community staging a 24-hour protest with the Buddhist Monks against religious persecution and killings of Christians, Catholic Priest, and Buddhist Monks in communist Vietnam. She organized a 7-day protest outside of City Hall, Houston, Texas due to COH & HUD failure to help citizens displaced after Hurricane Ike. She is the co-founder of the Atlanta Library of Peace, the founder of Juneteenth Texas and the founder of End Hunger Sunnyside collaboration. She got the Mayor of Houston involved along with several other groups to feed those individuals that had their water shut off when the landlord refused to pay the water bills. The people could not move out, so Sandra impressed upon the Mayor of Houston to move them from this soon to be condemned complex, to a new location in which the city covered the first month rent. She gives selflessly to the betterment of others. She is a true humanitarian.
